Juan Penuelas was raised in Decatur and attended Austin High School and then Calhoun Community College. He has been a Decatur Police officer for 20 years and has been a part of specialized units including the anti-crime unit, warrant unit, honor guard, and courtroom security. Juan is currently a warrant officer but is training to be a school resource officer because he wants to be a role model for children and help those that go without. Juan recently won a community hero award from the Tennessee Titans and was a special guest at a Titans football game. He has been involved in many charities including the Special Olympics and the police department’s Explorer Program which informs young adults that wish to become officers and ACES Youth Program which provides positive role models to youth. Juan is married to Robyn Penuelas who he has been with for eight years. He and Robyn both enjoy helping their community and have servant hearts.
