What a special boy! Berkes came to his family as a medical foster who quickly turned into a fur-ever family member. Berkes is a 3-year-old Australian Shepherd mix who we like to say is “handicapable”. Berkes was born in February 2019 in a large “uh-oh” litter. The family kept him allowing him to roam the property freely. Fast forward to early 2022, Berkes was attacked by a large male dog resulting in a severed back leg and numerous puncture wounds. Berkes’s family refused to provide appropriate medical care and ultimately surrendered Berkes with an infected leg, puncture wounds, heartworm positive, and infested with parasites. Berkes has made a full recovery and is now on a tripod living his best life. He loves hard, loves attention, and would be honored to be the next Carnegie Carnivals Sir Bow-Wow!
