She has received the Presidential Volunteer Service award, the Hugh O’Brian Youth Leadership award, and was crowned Decatur High School’s homecoming queen. In her free time, she loves to go on runs, hang out with friends, and watch movies. Jamie is interested in health care and involved in her school’s medical internship program at Career Academies of Decatur. Next year, Jamie plans to attend the University of Alabama, where she plans to major in biology.
Jamie is running for Carnegie Princess because she wants to support and raise money to better her community. “This community has given me so many incredible opportunities and I want to give back to it. The Carnegie Visual Arts Center does amazing things for our community by hosting events such as Camp Carnegie and Carnegie Carnival. I want to support the Carnegie Visual Arts Center so it can continue its mission to promote arts for everyone. I also worked with CASA this past year through DHS and am excited to help CASA carry out its mission of helping children in the court system. I am honored to be involved with and help support such vital organizations in my community.”
